Chengdu's Chenghua District will join hands with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) to establish a digital culture industry park in the city.
The first-ever digital culture industry park in Sichuan will be China's largest transaction platform for publishing as well as the center of book resources.
To be backed up by UESTC's publishing technology, the project is aimed to integrate publishing resources and promote the sharing of know-how, resource and market among publishers.
The national centralized procurement center, a major part of the park, will house over 300,000 classifications of books by the end of 2017, and possess the country's largest collection of publications in terms of varieties.
Upon completion, it will serve as the venue for an annual forum on cooperation and development of China's publishing industry initiated by the Chinese Publishing Association.
