About "Home in Chengdu" Project

“Home in Chengdu” project for foreigners was launched by Chengdu Municipal People’s Government in early 2016. This is a project aiming to create a better working and living environment for foreigners in Chengdu from education, health care, property services and other aspects, in order to provide foreigners in Chengdu a stronger feeling that Chengdu is their “home”.

This project is been building oriented by real problems and opinions reflected by foreigners in Chengdu. Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the leading department of “Home in Chengdu” Project joint conference, is continuously collecting opinions and questions from people, especially foreigners, through major media platforms in Chengdu, Chengdu Mayor’s Hotline (028-12345), email (homeinchengdu@foxmail.com), and etc. All collected opinions, as well as questions, will be transferred to related departments to do research and make responsive policies, which will help truly upgrade this project’s effectiveness.

At present, English service is available for Chengdu Mayor’s Hotline, and a “Home in Chengdu” service window is open in Chengdu Municipal Government Affairs Service Center. Additionally, the Comprehensive Guidelines for Foreign and Overseas Citizens in Chengdu, the Guide to Buy & Rent House in Chengdu for the Foreigners, and “Home in Chengdu” WeChat Platform have been released in September. Living guidelines for foreign and overseas residents, “Home in Chengdu” official website and APP, and book borrowing system for foreigners will also come soon.

To provide foreigners in Chengdu a better living and working convenience, the first legal aid station for foreign-related matters has been operated on November 24th in Chengdu, Sichuan. This station is set for foreigners to enjoy certain services of legal aid, such as assisting on checking concise domestic law, consultation on law issues, and writing legal instruments for free. This station provides bilingual service (namely English and Chinese). To contact this station, please call 028-12348 OR 028-66500148

In addition, GoChengdu, the city guide of Chengdu, recently has upgraded its website. Foreigners will find it is easy to search various information about Chengdu in terms of news, travel, life, cuisine of Chengdu, and pandas. In December, A Guidebook for Foreigners Living in Chengdu, also a major work of Home in Chengdu Project, has released. This guidebook can be read and download on this website.

In February, the official website of “Home in Chengdu” Project (http://homeinchengdu.cn) launched. Currently, the website provides both English and Chinese versions for users.
